Your privacy is important to the World Federalist Movement – Institute for Global Policy (WFM-IGP). This notice explains our privacy policies and the use of information collected through email and regular mail correspondence, telephone calls, faxes, and electronic resources. This policy governs all WFM-IGP programs.
When an organization joins WFM-IGP, or whenever staff of member organizations register for our conferences, meetings or workshops, we ask for their contact information (including an email address, postal address, telephone number, etc.), which are then entered into our database.
Information Sharing
With the following exception, WFM-IGP does not share its members’ lists with any individuals, companies, or organizations:
Databases: under specific circumstances, WFM-IGP may provide contact information stored in its databases to other non-profit or non-governmental organizations, so that they can contact you about programs of interest to you. Only mail, phone, and e-mail information is shared. WFM-IGP retains the right not to share this information..
Surveys: From time-to-time, we may ask members to participate in surveys. Participation is completely voluntary. We may ask for contact and/or demographic information to help with the survey. Unless specified this information is not shared, sold, released or distributed and is designed for internal use only.
Communications
Post: WFM-IGP will periodically mail out publications and other materials to its contact lists. If you do not wish to receive these materials, please contact our office at 212-599-1320 or email us at development@wfm.org.
Email: If you join any of our email lists, you will automatically receive information from us via e-mail, unless you specify that you do not wish to receive such information. Some of our listservs are administered by outside providers and governed by the privacy policy of each individual provider. Unless stated, WFM-IGP will not sell, release or distribute your email address or other information obtained through our email listservs.
Website
The type and amount of information we receive and store depends on how you use our website. You can access all of our web pages without telling us who you are and without revealing any personal information. Our site is hosted on a remote server, which means that the servers are managed and maintained by a third party. The web servers collect anonymous logs during user visits to the website. This information is used to create aggregate statistics, for example about when our website is accessed, the pages which refer visitors to our site, the type of web browsers visitors use and which pages are viewed. These statistics help us understand how our site is used and provide us with valuable information for improving our site in the future.
We do not collect personally identifiable information (such as your name, address, phone number or e-mail address) on our site unless you choose to provide it, for example by donating online. These personal details are kept confidential. Under no circumstances does WFM-IGP sell, release or distribute your personal information.
Use of cookies: A cookie is a text-only piece of information that a website transfers to your computer's hard disk so that the website can remember who you are. A cookie will normally contain the name of the internet domain from which the cookie has come, the "lifetime" of the cookie, and a value, usually a randomly generated unique number. Links: Our website contains links to other websites. Please be aware that we provide these links with good faith that the information available on these sites will help you and your organization. We are not responsible for the privacy policies of these other sites.
Opt In/Opt Out: In order to be added or removed from our lists, you must notify us by telephone at 212-599-1320 or by emailing development@wfm.org. Any party may opt out of our email lists or from the general mailing list by contacting our office.
Contributions
Payment Processing: When making an online donation to WFM, your payment details are processed through a third-party secure server payment gateway.
Your e-mail address and other personal data will be retained by WFM in a secure environment, and will only be used in association with the ongoing support of your donation, or if you have opted to receive additional communications, such as our newsletter.
Your credit card details will be retained only by the third-party payment processing company and its acquiring bank. In the case of a suspected fraudulent transaction, card details may be disclosed to the store/merchant for the sole purpose of performing further checks. The store/merchant is not permitted to retain these details. WFM does not pass on information received during payment processing to third parties in any form, under any circumstances, except as required by state or federal statute.
Changes to Our Privacy Policy
WFM-IGP reserves the right to change this policy whenever deemed necessary and without prior notification. Should changes be made, they will be posted on this Privacy Notice with the date of revision.
