WFM-IGP Peacebuilding Commission Project Intern

This internship is with the Institute for Global Policy’s project on the United Nations Peacebuilding Commission. The Peacebuilding Commission (PBC) is an intergovernmental body at the UN that helps
countries emerging from violent conflict rebuild. The PBC develops frameworks for peacebuilding in countries on its agenda and provides advice to the UN and other international actors on peacebuilding priorities in those countries. The process involves not only the UN, but also others in the international community such as neighboring countries, donors and the international financial institutions. The PBC is currently working with the governments of Burundi, Sierra Leone, Guinea-Bissau, Central African Republic and Liberia to improve peacebuilding efforts and mobilize resources from the international community to help.

The project follows developments in the PBC, works to coordinate civil society engagement in the development and implementation of peacebuilding frameworks in the PBC countries and organizes
meetings and events to provide civil society perspectives on peacebuilding practices. More information about the project is available at http://www.betterpeace.org.

The intern will report to the project coordinator. The spring internship can be full-time or part-time (2-3 days per week) and must be for a period of 3-4 months. The internship is unpaid but those able to commit to a full-time internship may apply for stipends. More information can be found at
