WFM Information Management Intern
This internship touches upon all of WFM’s program areas. The internship will allow in-depth exposure to the dynamic work of each WFM project—including the Coalition for the International Criminal Court. This intern will be responsible for creating a new library system for our resources and media materials. Developing a searchable database for our active contacts—including governments, UN missions, media, and civil society partners. The intern will report to the Executive and Membership Assistant and gain in-depth exposure to the dynamic work of the Executive Office. The internship can be full-time or part-time (2-3 days per week) and must be for a period of 3-4 months. Please note that this internship is unpaid though full-time interns will receive a small per diem. There are also stipends available for those who apply. More information can be found here.
Responsibilities
*Please note that this internship is primarily administrative; however, supervisors will make a concerted effort to see that there is a balance of programmatic and research-related work*
• Developing a searchable database system for active contacts
• Create a new library system for our resources and media materials
• Assist in the preparation of new outreach materials
• Provide general support to the Executive and Membership Assistant
• Assist the Executive and Membership Assistant with outreach and communication to international members
• Undertake special projects and assignments as needed.
Qualifications
• Undergraduate or graduate student working towards degree in International Relations, Politics or related field
• Excellent written and oral communication, research, and writing skills
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office software
• Experience working with databases and/or internet research preferred
• Experience managing blogs and websites is helpful but not required
• Ability to work independently and within the constraints of tight deadlines
• Previous experience in a nonprofit environment preferred
• Proficiency in English required, additional language proficiencies are a plus
• Interest in WFM’s mission
