The World Federalist National Association of Nepal (WOFNAN) calls for a strong legal and political authority in world institutions to deal with problems that threaten peace, justice and an ecologically sustainable world community. The organization's objective is to help foster a world order in which the right of nations to self-determination is balanced by and consistent with the collective rights of the global community.
WOFNAN publishes Federalist Voice for its members regarding its programs and activities, and organizes interactions, talks, seminars and conferences on a national and international level.
WOFNAN's current goals are:
Reforming the United Nations
The stated goal of WOFNAN is to strengthen the United Nations so that it can viably maintain world peace, eradicate poverty and elevate humanity to a more prosperous and just society. WOFNAN's members call for reforms at the United Nations to make it a more democratic, reliable and effective institution.
Maintaining Peace and Security
Until a greater understanding amongst the world’s cultures and political institutions develops, a universal respect for human rights can not occur. WOFNAN advocates for greater dialogue and transparency among nation-states as it is the first step towards preventing the use of military force and massive military budgets.
