WFM-IGP Celebrates National Day of Giving

WFM-IGP Executive Director and Convenor of the CICC, William R. Pace, speaks at the Plenary session of the historic Rome Conference in June 1998. The Rome Conference marked the historic adoption of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court.

On December 1, 2015, the World Federalist Movement- Institute for Global Policy (WFM-IGP) will celebrate Giving Tuesday. Started in 2012, #GivingTuesday takes place each year on the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving as a way to bring communities together to give back to the charities of their choice. This year, we ask you to please consider giving to WFM-IGP, a 501c3 committed to the realization of global peace and justice through the development of democratic institutions and the application of international law.

Since 1947, WFM-IGP has worked to mobilize civil society on the local, national, and regional levels, while also working to reform global democratic institutions. We played a pivotal role in the establishment of the United Nations, and continue to advocate for UN reform and global governance, in order to advance justice, security, and peace in our world.

Though WFM has made huge strides advancing international law and human rights, there is still much work to be done. The World Federalist Movement is needed now more than ever.

For 70 years, our movement has been dedicated to the development and reform of the United Nations, in order to create a more transparent, just, and effective institution. One issue at the forefront of WFM’s work is the UN Secretary-General selection process, which we are working to influence through the 1 for 7 Billion Campaign. With the new Secretary-General set to be appointed in 2016, it is crucial that we make the process more open, transparent, and merit-based, and ensure that the best candidate is chosen. These reforms are imperative to WFM-IGP’s mission of creating fair and effective institutions, and would enhance the credibility and effectiveness of the Secretary-General, and the United Nations as a whole.

WFM-IGP is proud to participate in #GivingTuesday this year and would like to thank you in advance for your support as we work towards a better world.
