Empowering Women Seeking Justice and Peace: Advancing 1325-Women, Peace and Security in Colombia, Mali and at the Global Level
Through this project, the WFM/IGP and two women’s rights organizations—MUSONET in Mali and Corporación Humanas in Colombia—embarked on a truly cross-regional two-year collaboration to enable women to advocate for justice and peace at all levels of the multilateral system. The three organizations work to increase the competence, participation, and influence of women in peace and justice processes; and to strengthen legislative and judicial capacities to enact and implement laws criminalizing conflict-related sexual and gender-based violence crimes and incorporate a gender perspective in peace processes. This project supports the follow up of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 and the Women, Peace and Security agenda.
