Founded in 1947, the World Federalist Movement is a non-profit, non-partisan organization committed to the realization of global peace and justice through the development of democratic institutions and the application of international law.
The Institute of Global Policy was instituted in 1983 as the primary education mechanism of WFM and seeks to promote better understanding of the UN and other international organizations. It serves as a research and policy institute dedicated to the promotion of human security, international justice, the prevention of armed conflict and the protection of civilians.
WFM/IGP includes a comprehensive set of programs that work to protect civilians from the threat of genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity; facilitate transparency in governance; increase access to justice; and promote the rule of law. We work in partnership with the United Nations, the International Criminal Court, governments, and other international and regional institutions around the globe—as well as with thousands of committed individuals and world leaders—to advance a mission of peace, prosperity, and security for all. The World Federalist Movement has Member Organizations (MOs) around the world that are dedicated to spreading the ideas of World Federalism. Our MOs work on diverse issues such as raising support for the International Criminal Court, strengthening the European Constitution, creating a United Nations Parliamentary Assembly, and reducing small arms trafficking.
